Mission & Impact

We are sharpening our customer-facing trading experience and improving how professional investors experience Pareto Securities’ products. Pareto Securities already serves investors who expect fast, trustworthy tools. We keep our core product team right where the action happens, to react swiftly to market changes and new insights. We benchmark ourselves against leading trading platforms and tools out there and plan to surpass them.

As a frontend developer, you will take full ownership of the interfaces that make day traders, along with professional and semi-professional investors, feel at home: streaming dashboards, actionable insights, portfolio visualisations, and clear flows even during volatile markets.

Our team work together from our Oslo office because close collaboration drives better decisions. Sharing the same room helps us decide faster, refine ideas, and build trust. Our team brings together diverse expertise and works closely with brokers, traders, backend developers, and other specialists. With a short path from decision to action, we turn ideas into impact quickly. If you enjoy building alongside people who ask ambitious questions and care about the craft, you will feel at home here.

Our product & technology group is a small crew of roughly ten people covering frontend, backend, mobile, design, and project management. We spin up small project teams around each initiative so the people doing the work make decisions and ship. We expect curiosity: if something touches our customers, you understand it, have an opinion, and help improve it, regardless of discipline.

What You’ll Work On

  • Ship Angular 20+ features that help active investors act quickly on live market data.
  • Modernise legacy Angular apps by untangling old choices and leaving maintainable patterns behind.
  • Collaborate with designers in Figma, then implement polished components in our shared system.
  • Build web and MAUI flows together so the 2026 app launch delivers a consistent experience across surfaces.
  • Guard frontend performance, accessibility, and resilience when stakes are high.
  • Shape APIs and data contracts with backend teammates to keep the platform steady.
  • Contribute during discovery sessions, research debriefs, and product reviews.

Our Stack & Tooling

  • Angular 20+, TypeScript, RxJS, and a growing internal component library.
  • .NET services, SQL Server, REST and GraphQL APIs, and event-driven flows powering market data and account operations.
  • Azure Pipelines for CI/CD, Dockerized environments, and an evolving push toward IaC-managed infrastructure.
  • Observability stack evolving around Sentry, PostHog, Grafana, and App Insights.
  • MAUI shell for our forthcoming mobile trading app, with opportunities to shape shared UI patterns.
  • Collaborative tooling: Figma, Azure DevOps Boards, Git, and regular whiteboard sessions.

We welcome people who speak other object-oriented languages too; what matters is how you approach problems and how quickly you learn.

How We Work

We review work in the open, write short proposals instead of long specs, and iterate with fast feedback loops. We value descriptive PRs, clear communication, and openness about alternative solutions to strengthen our code review culture. Tight collaboration with design and product happens daily, and everyone shares accountability for outcomes.

We keep ceremonies lean, use data to guide decisions, and stay close to customer-facing colleagues to make sure what we build fits real trading workflows. Day-to-day collaboration happens in Norwegian while code and documentation remain in English.

What You Bring

  • Solid experience in modern frontend engineering (Angular, React, Vue, or similar) with shipped products.
  • Able to move from discovery to delivery: critique flows, implement them, and iterate after launch.
  • Comfortable with APIs, backend trade-offs, and pragmatic decisions when constraints appear.
  • Communicate in Norwegian day to day and write clear code and docs in English; share knowledge openly.
  • Motivated by regulated-finance challenges where security, auditing, and compliance guide the work.

Bonus experience

  • Building cross-platform experiences or contributing to MAUI, React Native, or similar mobile stacks.
  • Working with .NET, C#, or other object-oriented languages beyond the frontend.
  • Scaling data-heavy dashboards, trading tools, or other real-time interfaces.
  • Applying design-system thinking alongside product designers.

Life at Pareto Securities

Our team includes builders who have shipped products across leading Norwegian tech and finance companies. We share opinions openly, test assumptions, and rally around clear outcomes. You will get the space to own ideas end-to-end and the expectation to follow through.

We operate from modern offices overlooking Aker Brygge, with an in-house kitchen that keeps us well fed throughout the day. We cover your mobile phone and subscription, provide comprehensive insurance that covers disability, health care, and global travel, and offer broad partner discounts across automotive, apparel, sports, food, and other services.

We operate in a highly regulated industry, which adds stakes and purpose. You will be building systems that customers depend on when real money is at play. That combination of responsibility and craft is why we work here.

Hiring Process

1. First interview with Herman Schistad (CTO) to explore fit and your motivation.

2. Take-home product exercise (designed to mirror real tasks, estimated 3-4 hours) followed by a technical conversation with more folks in the team, to unpack your approach, trade-offs, and future iterations.

3. Final interview with the CTO and COO focusing on collaboration style, impact, and expectations.

4. Reference check before we move to an offer.

We review applications as they arrive and aim to move quickly.
