Summary from Pareto Securities’ Swedish Selected Small Caps Day

On Wednesday, December 9th, 2020, Pareto Securities hosted its Swedish Selected Small Caps Day in Stockholm. The event was virtual with presentations from some of the strongest performing companies in the model portfolio: Swedish Selected Small Caps.

The event started with an introduction by Ingeborg Magnusson, Corporate & Client Communication Manager followed by a summary of our model portfolio by Stefan Wård, Head of Research. Thereafter there was a strong run of presenting companies with Q&A moderated by Stefan and Matilda Karlsson, Content & Communication Manager.

Storytel gave an interesting presentation where we got an overview of how the acquisitions and changes in the pricing model launched during the second half of the year can continue to drive strong customer growth. The company has also launched in two new markets, Belgium and Thailand, during Q4, which will help continued growth in 2021 and beyond. It was exciting to hear about MIPS's addressable market and that they have only reached 4% of it, which leaves a high untapped market potential.

VNV Global reviewed their major holdings such as Babylon, BlaBla and Voi. We believe that 2021 will be very interesting for VNV, which will probably see a strong development of NAV driven primarily by Babylon but also Voi. Azelio had announced the same day that they had received their first commercial order and talked about the effect of this news during their presentation.

Hexatronic continues to see good demand, driven by fiber rollout in a number of major markets such as the UK and Germany, where the penetration rate is still very low. The company has a strong management that effectively manages to build the business both organically and through acquisitions. Lastly Kambi talked about their scalable business model and their entry into the US market as the states open up for legalization.
