Podcast on Energy Security: Why We Are Here and What Lies Ahead

Few, if any, themes have been higher on the agenda in the past six months than that of energy security. At our 29th annual Energy Conference on September 15, host Sebastian Baartvedt sat down with our energy specialists Tom Erik Kristiansen, Bård Rosef, and Lars Ove Skorpen to discuss the ongoing energy situation.

Energy security

Energy security and energy transition were the key topics at our Energy Conference 14-15 September. But how have we gotten to this point, and how do we fix the energy problem? In this podcast from the conference venue at Holmenkollen, Oslo, our energy analysts discuss how we can secure enough energy capacity.

During the conference, we also sat down with our energy expert Nadia Martin Wiggen and Trafigura’s Chief Economist Saad Rahim to hear their takes on how the oil, gas, and metals industries must develop to facilitate the next “commodities transition.”

Listen also to our special battery episode, where host Sebastian Baartvedt, CEO of FREYR Tom Einar Jensen, and our battery analyst Kenneth Sivertsen discuss how batteries fit into the energy transition, how a Norwegian startup ended up on the biggest battery scene, and how to handle the scarcity issues that affect the industry.

Our Energy Conference is the largest of its kind in Europe, with over 1,500 representatives from the energy industry, the political environment, and investor community. In addition, a total of over 160 companies will present themselves at the conference, which this year is being held as a physical event in Oslo, Norway.

The conference focuses on energy security, the outlook for commodity prices, and the vast opportunities as the energy transition plays out, providing a meeting place to discuss near- and long-term solutions to the energy crisis.
