Pareto Securities’ E&P Independents Conference

On Thursday the 25th of March we are hosting our 16th E&P Independents Conference. The conference, which is usually held in London, will be a full-day virtual event with an opening panel debate with Norway’s Minister of Petroleum and Energy Tina Bru, followed by presentations from 25 E&P Companies across different geographies.

Following an unprecedented drop in oil prices last year, the E&P sector has further reduced costs and increased capital discipline. Whilst prices averaged USD 43/bbl in 2020, Brent has now recovered to USD >65/bbl, fueled by stringent supply control by OPEC+ and the ongoing roll-out of vaccines. With a demand recovery underway, we believe there is several exciting investment opportunities in the E&P space that will be presented at our conference.

From the Norwegian Continental Shelf, we are pleased to host both Lundin Energy and Aker BP, which has grown from exploration focused companies to two of the largest independent companies on the shelf. Other NCS companies include both listed and private equity sponsored companies that are experiencing rapid growth. In addition, we are pleased to introduce a wide range of international E&P companies, including both exploration focused and companies with solid producing assets, from several key oil and gas basins around the world.

We expect the balancing act between investments in profitable growth opportunities and return to shareholder distributions to be key themes amongst the companies at the conference this year. In addition, the shift to more sustainable energy and the importance of reduced emissions will see increased focus amongst both companies and investors, with the industry determined to reduce its carbon footprint.
